This video is about improving business performance in companies involved in software through the implementation of quality systems and TickIT certification procedures.
The stages of implementation are vividly portrayed through the experiences of a fictitious software company, Universal Software Systems Ltd with little previous knowledge of quality systems implementation.
Aspects covered include:
- management identification of the need for a quality system
- quality system development
- decision to seek certification
- selecting a certification body
- audit interviews
- examples of non-compliance leading to the withholding of certification
- replay of quality system installation - corrective action leads to successful outcome
- management commitment to continuous improvement of business processes
Programme notes
A 20-page booklet accompanies the video containing scene-by-scene notes that expand on the issues raised and the reasoning of the auditor. The booklet also includes background on quality systems and TickIT certification.
Credits
The video was commissioned by the UK Department of Industry, co-ordinated by IT World Consultants with sponsorship from the Defence Research Agency and BSI Quality Assurance. The video was filmed on location at Logica, who also provided the company environment and staff.
